God's Jets
|
What does the Bible teach about God's jets?
Yes, this may startle you..
..but God has jets!

The Bible calls them swift clouds*, flaming clouds, eagles wings, flying rolls, flying chariots, flaming horses and flying carriages. They all are descriptive words for vehicles. Some refer to vehicles that carry God's thrones. Today we would use words like a car, a bus, a train, a plane, or a jet to describe these vehicles.

Let me ask you a few questions: -
Does the President of the United States have his own private jet?
Is it fully equipped as a second office for the security of our nation?

No jet can match the awe that surrounds Air Force One.
The mystique of the aircraft is such that to be offered a ride is considered a high diplomatic honor! On every overseas visit, the looming presence of the so-called "Flying White House" coming in to land heralds the start of a massive security, press and transportation operation that accompanies the traveling president.

Does God deserve anything less?
As you know, Christians teach that God is "King of a vast domain." They also believe the Bible that God has mobile thrones.
I will give you chapter and verses to prove this, but first let’s think about the changes in transportation over this past century. In 1920 my father with his family rode 12 miles to church in a two-horse carriage. In 1920 people enjoyed horseback races and dirt track chariot racing. That had been the fastest means of transportation for the past six millenia, and then suddenly a great change came. Today the carriages are 300 horsepower cars, and the horseback races have given way to bicycle and motorcycle races. Jet planes have replaced the Wright brothers' home made airplanes, and the Rutan brothers have pushed forward to space travel opportunities for everyone.
The Bible predicted that in these last days of earth's history knowledge would be greatly increased, men would run to and fro on the earth; modern vehicles with bright lights would speed like lightning, and the cars would juggle for room on the broad streets. The Bible also said men would "fly as doves to their windows."
In searching all the verses that mention chariots I found the dramatic story of Jehu and thought that if he lived today what a barn-storming fighter-jet pilot and war hero he would be! People would say, “There goes Jehu! He flies like lightning! Look at the jet trail he leaves in the sky!" Actually Jehu's chariot left a trail of dust that could be seen for miles away. (See 2 Kings chapter 9) Verse 20 reads in most translations that Jehu "drives furiously." The actual NIV translation is = “the driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi—he drives like a madman.” That is why we have the popular saying about reckless speedsters. "He drives like Jehu!"

GOD'S MOBILE THRONES
Yes, like the U.S.A. president, God has more than one throne.
There is one inside the Holy City and others inside His Jets

Here are the verses that might answer some questions:
question # 1 : Where is God's eternal throne?
Psalms 103:19 The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. ---NKJ.
Psalms 11:4 But the Lord is still in his holy temple; he still rules from heaven. He closely watches everything that happens here on earth. -- Living Bible
question # 2: Does God ever move from that location?
Micah 1: 2-4 Attention! Let all the peoples of the world listen. .. 3. Look! He is coming! He leaves his throne in heaven and comes to earth, walking on the mountaintops. 4. They melt beneath his feet, and flow into the valleys like wax in fire, like water pouring down a hill.
Matthew 25:31 ``But when I, the Messiah, shall come in my glory, and all the angels with me, then I shall sit upon my throne of glory. -- Living Bible
Mat. 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. NIV
Luke 9:26 ``When I, the Messiah, come in my glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels, I will be ashamed then of all who are ashamed of me and of my words now. ---LB
question # 3: How are the moving thrones described ?
Daniel 7:9-14 LB "I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient of Days--the Almighty God--sat down to judge. His clothing was as white as snow, his hair like whitest wool. He sat upon a fiery throne brought in on flaming wheels, and a river of fire flowed from before him. Millions of angels ministered to him ... Next I saw the arrival of a Man*--or so he seemed to be--brought there on clouds from heaven; he approached the Ancient of Days and was presented to him. He was given the ruling power and glory over all the nations of the world, so that all people of every language must obey him. His power is eternal--it will never end; his government shall never fall." (Who is this Man? see next question. --

question # 4: Who is this Man that comes riding on a cloud?
Answer to that most important question of your life: ---
--- *This "Man" or "Son of human" as literal Greek reads can only apply to Jesus, our Messiah. He is our "Jesus: Eternal Triumphant Savior."
This 4 word Acronym = JETS. Hereafter when you see the words, "God's Jets" may it remind you of "Jesus our Eternal Triumphant Savior!"
From these verses in Daniel 7 we see that there are more than one throne. One is brought in on "flaming wheels" and the other with the Man-God on "clouds." Both of these vehicles are God's Jets with different names. The "Ancient of Days" refers to God the Father and the "Man" refers to God the Son. .
Hebrews 12:2 "Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor.
He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God. --LB"
Commentaries agree on this identification.
John Wesley's Notes on Daniel 7:13:--
"A son of man - That is, the Messiah, he came with the clouds of heaven, gloriously, swiftly and terribly. And came - This relates to his ascension, at which time, he received his royal investiture, for the protection of his church, and curbing of their enemies." (bible.cc/daniel/7-13.htm)
This next item is dealing with Matthew 22:44 and the question Jesus asked the Pharisees about the Messiah -- How could the Messiah be the son of David when David called him his Lord? The Pharisees could not answer this question without acknowledging that Jesus could be the Lord God that he claimed to be.
"Daniel's Son of Man as the Messiah
Here, Christ combines the language of Daniel 7:13-14 and Psalm 110:1 together, thereby affirming that David's Lord is none other than Daniel's Son of Man. ...

Isaiah 19:1. “... Look! Yahweh is advancing...riding on a swift cloud. ”
Thus, Daniel’s Son of Man rides the clouds like Yahweh, rules over all creation forever like Yahweh, and is worshiped by all the nations like Yahweh!
"From the very beginning the Son of Man of Daniel was identified as the Messiah. In fact this has been the traditional orthodox interpretation, one held by the majority of both Jews and Christians for over seventeen hundred years."
This is the true trinitarian doctrine: There are three individuals but they are one Yahweh family! They share the same names, titles and characteristics. God (family) is Holy, Just, Good and Eternal!
-- Just how is it that they are one?
They are NOT one being with three heads! -That is Heathenism!
It is NOT one creating/birthing the others! -That is Arianism!
It is as Jesus explains it when he prayed to his father about his disciples, "Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.... And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:" John 17:11,22.

We repeat the question: Who is the Man on the throne?
Let us consider Isaiah's vision of God's Jet throne!
Isaiah 6:1-5 LB --. "The year King Uzziah died I saw the Lord! He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the Temple was filled with his glory. 2. Hovering about him were mighty, six-winged angels of fire. With two of their wings they covered their faces; with two others they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3. In a great antiphonal chorus they sang, ``Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is filled with his glory.'' 4. Such singing it was! It shook the Temple to its foundations, and suddenly the entire sanctuary was filled with smoke.
5. Then I said, ``My doom is sealed, for I am a foul-mouthed sinner, a member of a sinful, foul-mouthed race; and I have looked upon the King, the Lord of heaven's armies.''
Who is this "King, the Lord of heaven's armies"?
Henry's Bible Commentary gives us the answer: ---
"This vision is explained, John xii. 41, that Isaiah now saw Christ's glory, and spake of Him, which is a full proof that our Saviour is God. In Christ Jesus, God is seated on a throne of grace; and through him the way into the holiest is laid open. -- (Simple English John 12:41 "Isaiah said these things, because he saw Jesus' glory. Isaiah was talking about Jesus.") .
"All vain-glory, ambition, ignorance, and pride, would be done away by one view of Christ in his glory. This awful vision of the Divine Majesty overwhelmed the prophet with a sense of his own vileness... A glimpse of heavenly glory is enough to convince us that all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Nor is there a man that would dare to speak to the Lord, if he saw the justice, holiness, and majesty of God, without discerning his glorious mercy and grace in Jesus Christ."
Ellen G. Harmon described the way she saw this:
In February, 1845, I had a vision of events.... I saw a throne and on it sat the Father and the Son. I gazed on Jesus' countenance and admired his lovely person. The Father's person I could not behold, for a cloud of glorious light covered him. I asked Jesus if his Father had a form like himself. He said he had, but I could not behold it, for said he if you should once behold the glory of his person you would cease to exist... And I saw the Father rise from the throne, and in a flaming Chariot go into the Holy of Holies, within the veil, and did sit. There I saw thrones that I had never seen before. Then Jesus rose up from the throne... And I saw a cloudy chariot, with wheels like flaming fire, and Angels were all around it as it came where Jesus was. He stepped into the chariot and was borne to the Holiest where the Father sat. There I beheld Jesus, as He was standing before the Father, a great High Priest. ... {Broadside1, April 6, 1846 par. 7}

question # 5: How many chariots or Jets does God have?
Psalms 68:17 NKJ -The chariots of God are twenty thousand, Even thousands of thousands; The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.

question# 6: Does God send his Jets on rescue missions?
2 Kings 2:11-12 LB As they were walking along, talking, suddenly a chariot of fire, drawn by horses of fire, appeared and drove between them, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven. Elisha saw it and cried out, ``My father! My father! The Chariot of Israel and the charioteers!''As they disappeared from sight he tore his robe.
Habakkuk 3:8 LB - Was it in anger, Lord, you smote the rivers and parted the sea? Were you displeased with them? No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!
1 Thes.4:15-17 LB I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever.
question# 7: How many people will these super Jets hold?
Rev.7:4,9-10 NIV Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel... After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
{My comment} When I open my Bible and read what Daniel the prophet wrote and what John the Revelator pictured for us it overwhelms my imagination. Jesus, the Lamb, My Savior is a real person. He is really living and He is coming soon with real super Jets: Cloud One, Cloud Two, Cloud Three along with clouds of angels. They are coming to resurrect the righteous dead and gather the righteous living with them up into God's Super Jet Clouds for the trip to Holy City. Can you believe it? Is it real to you?
When the Bible speaks to me about God travelling in a chariot or cloud it seems to have more reality when I use the current terms for vehicular travel such as "Jets" or "Space ships." In the following pages we will consider each "chariot" verse in both the Old and New Testaments. And we will find Jesus as the Pilot King of each jet. |
